            [comments] => Love Salsa Marin! Mark, Teri and rest of crew are spectacular. We do both the group and private lessons. The group lessons are educational and have a dance party vibe. The privates have really helped us focus on aspects that are important to us. Mark’s attention to details and the students needs is apparent in both the group and private experiences. Highly recommend.

Mark is in the details, methodical and is great at keeping it light

… I have been dancing a long time though new to Salsa … for those who want progress through good  understanding of  the fundamentals ….

Salsa Marin is a great place for learning ….. value added, clean and well organized class syllabus …. For those who prefer to front load path to  a new dance form  with lessons

            [comments] => Mark is a fun and very attentive dance instructor– he delivers on his promise that it’s not just learning steps but feeling the music and being in sync with your dancing partner.
I thought that I knew how to dance BUT dancing with Mark changed my perspective, as there is always room for an improvement. I realized I am just a beginner, which was humbling but same time very encouraging. Mark is very professional and puts you at ease learning perfect steps and new techniques.
I started with private classes but now am moving to group class, which is also fun as you can dance with different partners who have their own style under Mark’s watchful eyes.
Kat – his dancing partner –gives her female perspective on how to improvise. She is very intuitive and sees every move and how to tune to perfection.
They will make you look good dancing!

            [comments] => After one private lesson with Mark I am absolutely compelled to write a review. It was an exceptional experience. Yes, Mark is clearly a gifted dancer; I knew this going in. I had seen him in group lessons and was impressed by his energy, his intelligent break down of moves and his supportive but direct approach. He simplifies without sacrificing even the nuances; supportive while still asking for more . . . all the while, his enthusiasm for dancing, for the music, is contagious. The joy he conveys is key to me; without it, how is it possible to relax, to trust oneself to learn . . . and to move? The unusual gift given - even within the space of one lesson - is my renewed understanding of the connection between movement and mind. I did not have any thoughts of this going in - heck, I simply wanted to try Salsa dancing and have some fun. I want to be clear - Mark offers not even a hint of a "woo-woo" agenda. But, perhaps because he's both a gifted dancer AND teacher, I couldn't help but awaken to the truth that my body - my movement - spoke volumes about my spirit; where fear is held, where trust may be absent, etc. It was an eye-opening, spirit-opening reminder that who we are shows up wherever we go. Without a lot of fanfare, Mark seems to understand this and helps suggest how we might get out of our own way.

            [comments] => Taking salsa lessons at Salsa Marin has been truly transformational for me! And Mark is just an awesome teacher and human being. There are so many things I like about the experience: the ease of scheduling (thank you Cat!), the flexibility in scheduling classes, the venue, the kindness and above all Mark's approach to teaching. Its not about the steps, its about feeling the music, letting go and having a fun time! I can highly recommend for anyone who is ready to gain confidence on the dance floor and in life in general, while getting to meet the most wonderful and generous people and having fun on top of it!             [comments] => I’ve been taking private lessons for almost a year with Salsa Marin as a complete novice/beginner and have learned so much! I’ve enjoyed the challenges and gained the confidence to now dance with almost anyone socially. The group lessons are also a fun way to meet and dance with others at about the same level. Mark is very intuitive and wants to know how you learn best so that he can adjust his style accordingly.

            [comments] => I have attended numerous salsa classes and had one previous private salsa instructor. Mark Ellis is, without hesitation, the best salsa teacher I have ever experienced. He doesn't just teach steps or turns or moves. He teaches style, rhythm, history and music appreciation.The entire time he is doing that, he is the ultimate comedian. Mark is talented, personal, inspiring, and a welcome respite at he end of a stressful, challenging and exhausting day. His studio is a great place to exercise, relax, learn and laugh.

Mark is a character! He leads the class with a lot of energy, humor, and expertise. His teaching assistant, Kat, plays the role of the anchor, who observes the progression of the class during the lesson and adjusts the pace to make sure we don't get ahead of ourselves. They both are experts that will are able to help identify small details that will bring your ability to the next level. The community they are cultivating is inclusive and friendly.
